Preparing for the worst at your museum can be a daunting and overwhelming task: colleagues tend to overlook it, few resources are at hand, and training and awareness-raising is done through the hard work of driven individuals. This session demonstrates that effective and challenging trainings can make a significant difference to the museum community and improve everyone’s confidence in their ability to respond. Presentations by the Smithsonian and the Heritage Emergency National Task Force about recent trainings will summarize key points and lessons learned.
