To make an exhibition truly inclusive for all visitors, accessible design must be a cross-departmental and collaborative effort from the beginning. As a new institution with millions of visitors, the 9/11 Museum’s process for integrating accessibility into its exhibitions has evolved through trial and error. Using case studies and a lively group discussion, participants will learn how the museum overcame complications of space, a diversity of exhibition media, and logistical challenges. Participants will discover ideas they can apply in their own organizations. Exhibit Planning and Design track generously supported by Monadnock Media
