The Canadian War Museum tried something new in its exhibition “Deadly Skies—Air War, 1914–1918” by converting the experiences of nine individuals into a large-scale graphic novel. Much like the stories in the exhibition, the story of how this project came together is filled with twists and turns, some unpleasant surprises, and moments of triumph. Join the exhibition team on this journey, through participatory storytelling and illustrations, consider alternatives for transforming history into accessible stories, and learn to apply them in your own practice.
