In March 2016, the National Museum of Women in the Arts launched a social media campaign asking, “Can you name five women artists?” #5womenartists elicited shock, provided a challenge, and sparked conversation about gender parity in the arts. In this session, you will learn about the campaign from planning and branding, partnerships, and media pitching to stoking the conversation throughout the month. In addition, you will hear about challenges, lessons learned, and outcomes from the first two years of the campaign.
