Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) faces a renovation that will require its history and science museums to remove 5,000 objects from display for 30 months. Rather than mothball the collection, CMC launched Curate My Community to display objects in public spaces. The undertaking offered chances to work with new partners and tell new stories in new locations, piloting a collaborative community paradigm for exhibit design and display. Project developers and partners discuss how the challenge resulted in a community of curators engaged in storytelling around the museums’ collections.
