Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterwork, attracts an average of 160,000 visitors annually. However, recent observations revealed that some populations were noticeably underrepresented among our visitors, including, but not limited to: individuals with mobility and stamina limitations, sensory challenges, neighbors, and local students living near Fallingwater. During this session, you will get Fallingwater’s perspective on social responsibility as a modern house museum and the steps we took to make this well-known work of architecture accessible and enjoyable for all visitors. Join us as we discuss visitor experience, strategies we’ve tested and ones we currently use to establish a more diverse, inclusive and welcoming environment.
