Unique alternate funding sources exist for capital/infrastructure improvements and construction. You will learn about and discuss various types of funding available for capital improvement for museums of different types, sizes and governance. These funding sources include Lodgers Tax, state legislative appropriations, tax increment financing districts, municipal tax increases, and municipal, county, state, and higher education bonds. You will explore realities, expectations, legislative language, threats, and time frame of these unique funding sources, and learn how to become effective advocates for this type of funding with legislators and the public.
