Collaboration within and beyond the museum field is a cornerstone of the mission of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture. Internationally, we are working to create partnerships that help to build capacity in partner organizations and provide training for the next generation of professionals as we work together to research and interpret our shared history. In this case study, you will hear about the museum’s work in and around the Slave Wrecks Project, exploring how we can tell a global story of oppression and exploitation in a way that is empowering and inclusive.
