Enduring collection care programs depend on the vision, leadership, and influence of all collection staff. Successful staff position their work as a fundamental, shared institutional goal, co-opting and embracing key internal stakeholders in achieving that goal. This Talk Show session features three preservation professionals who have fostered the creation of institutional collection care cultures. You will hear how vision, influence strategies, and troubleshooting can make collection care a resilient component of stewardship. You and the presenters will exchange successes and failures in long-term preservation initiatives, including integrated pest management, emergency management, and collection risk assessment.
