The median age of the country’s population is on the rise, often termed the “graying” of America. With that comes honed skill sets and a vast array of life experiences, as well as individuals seeking to reinvent themselves. How can museums embrace and harness the power of this volunteer corps to further institutional missions? Hear from two active volunteers about their museum experiences. Two seasoned volunteer managers will share how the three C’s — comfort, confidence and choice — work into their training programs, empowering this invaluable human resource. You will participate in some of the more popular training activities in use at our panelists’ museums.
