Breaking down the content of the 2015 digital publication “Rights & Reproductions: The Handbook for Cultural Institutions”, this session will introduce you to common situations facing rights and reproductions specialists in today’s changing landscape of utilizing collection media. The “Handbook” is published by the Indianapolis Museum of Art and AAM. Listen to a series of rapid-fire presentations from the contributing authors to learn how to determine a work’s rights status; decide whether to pursue a formal license or assert fair use; learn tricks of the trade for daily tasks from processing external requests to overseeing location shoots; and how to leverage content with external distribution partners.
