Few museums can boast that their building project was conceived and completed without faltering at some point. Unfortunately, we hear about projects that are over budget and fail to meet the expectations of their audiences. The session will feature museum CEOs who successfully completed complex new building projects. Speakers are individuals who were selected for the Annual Buildy Award given at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) Building Museums symposium. Criteria for this award included extensive stakeholder involvement, transformative vision and design, strong project management, viable business plans, and post opening sustainability.
