Creative individuals and institutions in Washington, DC have moved beyond what so often comes to mind when people think of “Washington museums.” Leaders from four distinct institutions will share how their core story lines and programs respond to humanitarian challenges and strive to improve the health, well-being, and opportunities of the different communities they serve. You will learn about four different, replicable models of community engagement. You also will hear the presenters’ strategies for how they partner with their communities, whether local or international, bound by need, geography, or occupation, in ways that empower individuals to take action to improve the world around them.
