Six new museum directors from diverse institutions discuss their experiences transitioning into a leadership role. These seasoned professionals worked their way up within the museum field and are currently in their first director role. How did their museum experience prepare them to face major issues related to power, influence, and responsibility? How did they have to reinvent themselves to succeed in their new role?

In addition to sharing their perspectives, the panelists will engage the audience to generate some candid discussions and insights about taking a role as a director for the first time. Please join us as we explore the promises and pitfalls of taking that step up.
